Generate a police report for a stolen phone in one click

Filing a theft report usually means hunting down your IMEI number and trying to remember exactly where and when you last had your phone. Here's exactly where this lives in your dashboard and what gets filled in automatically.

Setup: none — it appears once there's an active incident

There's no separate report generator to find and no setup step. On the device's page, under "Incident," you'll see a "Report stolen" form if nothing's been reported yet. Submitting it — or a SIM-swap alert triggering automatically — creates an active incident, and the form is replaced with "Reported [time] ago" plus two buttons: "Generate police report" and "File insurance claim."

What's filled in automatically

Opening the report pulls in the device's IMEI, model, and label; the last known location as both coordinates and a reverse-geocoded address; the date the incident was filed; and the email of whoever's logged into the account — formatted into a ready-to-print report rather than a form you fill out from scratch.

How to confirm it's ready

If you can see the "Generate police report" button under Incident, the report is ready — open it and check that the location line shows an actual address rather than "unavailable," which depends on at least one location ping having arrived and been successfully reverse-geocoded first.

Why the IMEI matters

Police and carriers use the IMEI to blacklist a stolen device, which makes it far harder to resell — and insurance claims almost always require it. Having it pulled in automatically, instead of digging through a box or old receipt, makes filing realistic instead of another thing to put off.
